College Works Painting
College Works Painting is a house painting company in Amherst, Massachusetts and a college internship for local students (most of whom attend the University of Massachusetts, Amherst or other local schools). College Works Painting is designed to accomplish two things – deliver top quality house painting services to homeowners and to provide ambitious college students with a world-class leadership experience. To ensure this happens our interns undergo an extensive training process. Training begins almost immediately upon hire. As a team the hired interns attend multiple training sessions covering all aspects of running a house painting business. In addition, they receive actual paint training, including application, technique, and scope of work inspection and creation. By the time the interns interact with homeowners, they are completely vetted and capable of offering top quality painting advice and services.
The College Works Painting intern doesn’t paint. Rather, the College Works Painting intern manages a team of house painters in Amherst. Of course, to properly manage a painting company it’s essential that the interns understand every aspect of painting and are capable of providing exceptional painting services themselves. Therefore, each intern undergoes the proper training to ensure this standard is met. To be clear, however, the College Works Painting internship is designed to teach college students how to run a business. The College Works Painting internship gives students the experience and transferable skills necessary to be a fierce competitor in the job market after graduation. College Works Painting alumni have testified that the internship has transformed them into talented and successful business people.
Company culture is very important to us at College Works Painting. We have created an atmosphere of team work and team support. We encourage team work during training sessions with group exercises. Likewise, we encourage team work during the events we invite the interns to regularly throughout the summer. At trainings and events alike, interns share best business practices with each other and create unbreakable bonds.
