College Works Painting
College Works Painting is a college internship that teaches qualified college students how to run their own business. We understand that education comes first and the last thing we want to do is jeopardize a student’s college career and GPA. For this reason the College Works Painting program is primarily a summer internship with part-time work (including training sessions) during the school year. Because College Works Painting holds education in such high regard, our program is designed to enhance a college student’s education. Via the College Works Painting internship steadfast college students learn firsthand how to run a painting company. We take our training sessions very seriously and we expect our interns to do the same, arriving in proper business attire and coming to each meeting prepared. Our training sessions are held by seasoned and current entrepreneurs and painting experts. By the time summer approaches our interns are fully trained, vetted, and eager to produce exceptional house painting services to homeowners in Berkeley.
Each College Works Painting intern receives training throughout the entirety of the program. Each intern speaks with his mentor/supervisor weekly, even daily. In addition, bi-weekly training sessions are held throughout the summer not just for the interns in Berkeley but for all interns statewide. These trainings are designed to enable each intern to run the most successful business possible. The trainings promote continual improvement and success. When the internship has ended and the students prepare to return to school, likely at the University of California Berkeley, the top performers are invited to a companywide Top Performers Rewards Trip to congratulate them on their success. Because College Works Painting promotes team work, the interns typically wear a customized team t-shirt the first night of the trip to show the bond they have created with each other and the role each intern played in helping their peers achieve success.
