College Works Painting

College Works Painting is a house painting company in Cape Cod, Massachusetts and a college internship. With College Works Painting homeowners get to support the college students in their local community and they receive a top quality paint job backed by a major house painting company in business since 1993 (painting homes in Massachusetts since the year 2000). Likewise, with College Works Painting qualified college students get the unique opportunity to run their own business while still in college. The College Works Painting internship gives college students the hands-on work experience needed to successfully compete in the job market after college. With the transferable skills gained via the College Works Painting internship, college students build their resume and jump-start their careers. This is possible because the College Works Painting interns learn every aspect of running a business through formal training and hands-on learning – out in the field.

At College Works Painting we believe that balance is the real measure of success. For this reason we balance working hard and playing hard. This is another valuable lesson we teach our interns firsthand. Throughout the summer interns are invited on a team building oriented event twice a month. We refer to these events as Payroll Friday Events because they follow a payroll training session held earlier that day. The payroll training is a lot of work. The interns process their payroll to pay their painters, review their financial statements to manage the profitability of their business, and undergo various and continued training, such as OSHA regulated safety practices. This full day of work is followed by a team building event, which we feel demonstrates our work hard, play hard culture. Likewise, when the leadership team at College Works Painting gets together periodically throughout the year, they follow day-long meetings with team building events as well, be it dinner, hiking, or rock climbing. Work hard, play hard, have fun.
